What is this ping pong game

Fast top-down table tennis against a smart AI

Ping Pong is a single-player table tennis game played from above. Slide your paddle to rally the ball across the net, add spin by brushing across it, and control the pace with how fast you swing. Points go to 11 and you must win by two. It is quick to pick up and hard to put down — every rally plays out differently.

Casual, Pro, Champion
Three AI opponents that change reach, reaction time, shot power, and how fast the rally accelerates. Stats are tracked separately for each.

How to play

How to play the ping pong game

Move your paddle to meet the ball, rally it back over the net, and be the first to 11 points with a two-point lead. Pace and spin come from how you move the paddle on contact.

  1. 1

    Take the near paddle

You defend the bottom edge of the table from a top-down view; the AI defends the top edge. Move the mouse (or slide a finger) and your paddle tracks it left and right, and a little forward off the baseline. The opponent mirrors the ball on its side.

  2. 2

    Serve to start the point

At the start of every point the ball rests on the server’s paddle. It launches on its own after a moment, or press Space or tap to serve straight away. The serve alternates every two points, exactly as in table tennis.

  3. 3

    Rally the ball back

Meet the ball with your paddle and it bounces back across the net. Where it strikes the blade and how fast your paddle is moving decide the angle: hit near an edge or swipe sideways on contact to send the ball wide, brush across it for curve.

  4. 4

Win the point, then the match

A point ends when someone fails to return the ball past the opposite edge. The ball also ricochets off the side walls, so nothing goes out that way. First to 11 points wins, and you must lead by two — at 10–10 the game goes to deuce and the serve changes every point.

Tips to win more points

  • Return to the middle of your baseline after every shot — most points are lost by being out of position, not by a bad swing.
  • Use the whole width of the table. A ball placed into the corner the opponent just left is worth more than a harder ball hit straight back.
  • Move your paddle fast through the contact to add pace; slow the swing right down for a soft, short return that drops just over the net.
  • Brush across the ball on contact for sidespin — it curves in the air and after the wall bounce, and it drags the AI out of position.
  • Play the side walls deliberately. A steep angle that ricochets off the wall is very hard to read.
  • Against Pro and Champion, change the pace. Two hard shots then a soft one breaks the opponent’s timing.
  • When you are ahead in a deuce, serve to the opponent’s weaker side and be ready for the fast return.

FAQ

Ping pong game, answered

Straight answers about the free ping pong game you can play online in your browser.

What is this ping pong game?

It is a free single-player ping pong (table tennis) game you play in a web browser. You control a paddle from a top-down view and rally against an AI opponent. Points are scored to 11, win by two, and there are three difficulty levels — Casual, Pro, and Champion.

Is the ping pong game free to play online?

Yes. pingponggame.app is completely free and runs entirely in your browser. There is nothing to buy, download, or install, and there are no interruptive video ads, premium tiers, or paywalls. Open the page and a table is ready.

Do I need to download an app or create an account?

No. The game is the website — a 100% browser-based build with no app-store download and no sign-up. Your stats are saved locally in your browser, so there is no login to manage.

How do you play ping pong here?

Move your paddle with the mouse or a finger to meet the ball and send it back over the net. Each point starts with a serve — it launches automatically or when you press Space or tap. You win a point when the opponent cannot return the ball past their edge of the table. First to 11 points wins the match, and you must be ahead by two.

How does scoring work?

Every rally is worth one point, won by whoever does not miss. The match goes to 11 points but must be won by a margin of two: at 10–10 it reaches deuce and continues, with the serve changing every point, until one player leads by two. The serve otherwise alternates every two points.

Why does the ball bounce off the sides?

The left and right edges of the table are solid walls, the way an arcade ping pong cabinet plays. The ball ricochets off them and stays in play, so aggressive cross-table angles are a deliberate tactic rather than a way to lose the point.

How do the difficulty levels differ?

Casual gives you a slow opponent that reacts late and misjudges wide balls, with gentle rally speed. Pro covers the table quickly, reacts within about a tenth of a second, and aims away from you, with the ball speeding up faster. Champion is fast, accurate, and powerful, with a hard rally acceleration and long deuces. Stats are tracked separately for each.

How do I add spin?

Spin comes from your paddle’s sideways motion at the moment it touches the ball. Brush across the ball as you hit and it picks up curve that bends its flight and changes the angle it comes off the side wall. A small brush is enough — a big swipe adds spin but ruins your aim.

What is the best way to beat the AI?

Recover to the middle after every shot, then use the width of the table to hit into the space the opponent has just vacated. Change the pace — mix hard drives with soft, short returns — and use spin and the side walls to create angles it cannot reach in time. On Champion, one clean tactical idea per point beats trying to out-hit it.

Does the game save my progress?

Your matches played and won, points for and against, longest rally, fastest win, and win streak are saved locally in your browser for each difficulty. Nothing is sent to a server and there is no account. Because the save lives on the device, a different phone, a new browser profile, or cleared site data looks like a fresh start. A match in progress is not saved if you close the tab.

Can I play ping pong on mobile?

Yes. The layout is built for touch and portrait screens: the table and your paddle sit above the fold, you drag anywhere on the table to move, and a tap serves. Starting a new match is instant with no page reload.
